Morayfield Park Leisure Centre is the venue for the First National Competition for wheelchair dancing in conjunction with Dancesport Australia.
11 people in MacKay passed the assessment to become Instructors.
Wheelchair dancing was a feature of the Bribie Island, Pumicestone,Ningi Lions Club Annual Ball , Showcased by Henk and Nel Van De Vetge,Dutch Amateur wheelchair Dance Champions.

First road trip to Chinchilla by bus for the Disability Queensland Expo where they presented a display of wheelchair dancing |

Ten people attend Morayfield Park Leisure Centre to train as Instructors. Six are
diversional therapists in aged care and see the great potential to enhance the lives
of the residents in their care.
First Australian Team went to Boxmeer in the Netherlands to compete.Returned home with medals in three out of four events.

Seven people in Boonah successfully complete the Basic Instructors Course.
Lynette travels to Warsaw, Poland to attend Open European Championships, while there
completed training to become Australia's first classifier for Wheelchair Dancesport and
attended the first stage to becoming an Adjudicator. |

Lynette starts work at the Morayfield Park Leisure Centre to introduce wheelchair dancing
throughout the Caboolture Shire. |

Lynette travels to Malta to the Open Malta Wheelchair Dance Championships and upgrades her
qualifications by attending a course run by Corrie van Hugten and Ondine de Hullu in Malta.
This training makes Lynette the highest qualified instructor in Australia. |

Five people complete the Instructors Training at Moree, New South Wales becoming the first
in the state to be trained by Lynette.
Six couples from a Retirement Village on Bribie are presented to Mayor of Caboolture,
Cr. Joy Leishman, State Member Carryn Sullivan and Federal Member Mal Brough at a ball.

Blue Care asks Lynette to train 10 instructors in Rockhampton and 8 in Bundaberg.
Two people from Bribie Island also attend the training in Bundaberg.
Between June and November the new car has travelled 10,000 kms, with over 300 people
seeing Wheelchair Dancing for the first time. |

The AWDA relocated to the Gold Coast (Queensland) to continue promoting
Wheelchair Dancing within Australia, building to a healthy participation rate of over 400 people

AWDA receives Australia Day award for "Most Outstanding Community Event" for a Senior's
Wheelchair Dance Debutante Ball in Millicent, South Australia. |

Corrie van Hugten launches the Australian Wheelchair Dance Academy in Millicent, South Australia
then tours regional centres in Victoria to observe the development of Wheelchair Dancing through the
instructors trained by Lynette.
Corrie tells Lynette that she trains very good instructors and is happy to leave
Australia in her capable hands. |
